Guangzhou, April 9 (People’s Daily Online) — On April 8, the first batch of imported exhibits for the 139th Canton Fair successfully cleared customs under the supervision of Guangzhou Customs. The shipment consists of household goods and kitchenware produced in Turkey, totaling 137 items with a combined weight of approximately 18,000 kilograms, setting a new record for the heaviest single batch of imported exhibits in the history of the Canton Fair.
The 139th Canton Fair will be held in three phases from April 15 to May 5 in Guangzhou. The exhibition will cover a total area of approximately 1.55 million square meters, featuring around 75,500 booths and attracting more than 30,000 participating enterprises. The smooth customs clearance of the first batch of imported exhibits marks the beginning of exhibit arrivals for this session. Additional exhibits from countries including Egypt, South Korea, India, and Malaysia will arrive in Guangzhou in the coming days.
Nansha Port is one of the primary entry points for imported exhibits for the Canton Fair. To ensure efficient customs clearance, Guangzhou Customs has established dedicated service windows for Canton Fair exhibits and coordinated in advance with port operators to prepare for berthing and cargo handling. Priority has been given to participating enterprises for customs declaration, inspection, sampling, and testing procedures, ensuring that goods are inspected and released promptly upon arrival.
