Intennel Business Group Invited to Attend Tianjin Investment Promotion Conference in London

On April 24th, the Tianjin Investment Promotion Conference was held in London, UK. As an outstanding enterprise facilitating China-UK cooperation and exchanges, Intennel Business Group was invited to participate in this event.

The conference aimed to further deepen China-UK economic and trade cooperation, promote strategic synergy and pragmatic collaboration between Tianjin and UK enterprises, build an industrial matchmaking platform, and foster mutually beneficial development, serving China’s strategy of opening up and high-quality growth.

In his welcome speech, Mr. Zhai Lixin, Vice Mayor of Tianjin, introduced the city’s recent achievements in opening up to the outside world and its significant progress in promoting high-quality development and building a modern industrial system. He emphasized the importance of deepening China-UK economic and trade cooperation and expressed strong confidence in future collaboration.

Chinese Ambassador to the UK, Mr. Zheng Zeguang, stated that China is comprehensively advancing Chinese modernization through high-quality development. Tianjin’s development reflects the broader progress of China. In the first quarter of 2025, China’s GDP grew by 5.4% year-on-year, demonstrating a steady and positive economic start. This fully proves the effectiveness of China’s recent policy measures, including boosting domestic demand, stabilizing foreign investment and trade, fostering new productive forces, and promoting high-level opening-up. China’s economy shows strong resilience and internal dynamism.

Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), remarked that the tariff war initiated by the United States is having a profound and negative global impact. As a firm advocate of free trade, the UK remains committed to upholding the multilateral trading system and a fair and competitive market environment.

Ms. Madeleine Wittke, Global Head of Government Affairs at Haleon, shared the latest achievements of her company’s investments in Tianjin, including updates on the business environment and cooperation policies. Representatives from various levels of the Tianjin municipal government also provided detailed presentations on the city’s competitive industries, investment promotion policies, talent resources, and port logistics advantages.

During the conference, Tianjin signed multiple cooperation agreements with UK enterprises and institutions in the fields of technology, finance, and education.
