Company Managing Director Qiu Zhaojun Accompanies Anhui Delegation on Visit to the University of Glasgow

On September 19, the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Qiu Zhaojun, accompanied the Anhui Provincial Delegation on a visit to the University of Glasgow, UK, where they held discussions with Professor Asen Asenov of the James Watt School of Engineering on potential academic and business cooperation.

The delegation highlighted Anhui Province’s strengths in key industries such as manufacturing, artificial intelligence, new materials, and biopharmaceuticals, with particular emphasis on Hefei’s innovation potential as a Comprehensive National Science Center.

Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is one of the UK’s oldest higher education institutions. As a founding member of the Russell Group and Universitas 21, the university maintains strong global academic connections. Both sides also discussed opportunities for educational exchange and cooperation, including potential student exchange programs and joint postgraduate training initiatives, drawing on the university’s existing models of collaboration with top Chinese universities.

Professor Asen Asenov is a distinguished scientist and entrepreneur in the field of microelectronics and device modeling, specializing in Technology Computer-Aided Design (TCAD). He currently serves as the James Watt Chair of Electrical Engineering at the University of Glasgow and heads the Glasgow Device Modeling Group. He is a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Over his career, Professor Asenov has led pioneering research in microelectronics, developing quantum, Monte Carlo, and classical models and tools for advanced CMOS device design, making significant contributions to the progress of semiconductor technology.

The Anhui Delegation and Professor Asenov explored possibilities for comprehensive cooperation in multiple areas, including scientific research, student exchanges, and joint training programs.

As the organizer and coordinator of this visit, the company played a crucial role as a bridge for international science and technology cooperation, facilitating communication between both sides in advance and ensuring that the visit yielded substantive outcomes.
