The 138th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) grandly opened in Guangzhou, bringing together business elites from around the world. As the official partner of the Canton Fair in the United Kingdom, Intennel Business Group was invited to attend, with Managing Director Chiu Zhaojun representing the company at the opening reception.
As China’s longest-running, largest-scale, and most comprehensive international trade event, the Canton Fair continues to set new records. This year’s exhibition covers 1.55 million square metres, and the number of exhibitors has surpassed 32,000 for the first time, both reaching historic highs.
01 Canton Fair: Scale Reaches New Heights
The 138th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou in three phases from 15 October to 4 November 2025.
The exhibition area totals 1.55 million square metres, with 74,600 booths and more than 32,000 exhibitors, both hitting new records. Among them, approximately 3,600 companies will make their debut at the fair.
Jointly organised by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and hosted by the China Foreign Trade Centre, the Canton Fair has become a vital window for China’s foreign trade and a one-stop platform providing global buyers with high-quality and diversified supplier choices.
02 International Participation: Strong Global Response
This year’s Canton Fair has attracted a large number of buyers and distributors from around the world. As of 9 October, 207,000 buyers from 217 export markets had pre-registered, an increase of 14.1% year-on-year.
A total of 144 international business organisations are forming delegations to attend the fair, including the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses, the US-China General Chamber of Commerce, and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye—an increase of 12.5% year-on-year.
03 Opening Reception: A Gathering of Global Business Leaders
The opening reception of the Canton Fair is one of its most significant accompanying events. Invited guests include government officials, foreign diplomats, renowned international buyers, representatives of multinational corporations, and industry leaders.
