IBG Participates in China–UK Financial Dialogue Report Seminar in London

On February 19, Intennel Business Group was invited to attend the “11th China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue Outcome Interpretation Seminar and the Launch of the ‘2024 Report on the Development of Chinese Enterprises in the UK,’” held at the Bank of China London Branch.

Mr. Yu Benlin, Minister from the Chinese Embassy in the UK, and Dr. Gerard Lyons, a renowned British economist, delivered keynote speeches on the significance of the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue.

On January 11, 2025, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves co-chaired the 11th China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, resuming this high-level exchange after a six-year hiatus. The dialogue resulted in 69 policy agreements covering a broad range of economic and financial areas, including macroeconomic policy, multilateral cooperation, global economy, financial reforms, financial market development, regulatory cooperation, trade, investment, agriculture, industrial collaboration, climate, and energy. This resumption marks not only a significant milestone in China-UK relations but also a positive signal of cooperation amid global economic uncertainties.

Mr. Fang Wenjian, Chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK and General Manager of the Bank of China London Branch, provided an in-depth analysis of the dialogue outcomes. He also presented the “2024 Report on the Development of Chinese Enterprises in the UK,” compiled by the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK. The report is based on extensive tracking of the operational data of Chinese enterprises in the UK since early 2024, along with surveys and interviews with business leaders from both countries. It highlights the steady growth and outstanding achievements of Chinese enterprises in the UK, objectively reflecting the opportunities and challenges they face. In addition to monitoring the development of Chinese enterprises, the report explores cases of cross-benefits achieved through bilateral cooperation between Chinese and UK companies, and even in third countries or regions. It aims to provide strategic guidance for Chinese enterprises in the UK, enhance their voices, and support the Chamber in advising both the Chinese and UK governments.

During the seminar, participants engaged in lively discussions about the outcomes of the 11th China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue. In particular, there was strong enthusiasm for the progress made in the financial sector, including deepening financial reforms and regulatory cooperation, capital markets, asset management, green finance, and international financial talent exchange and development. For businesses and investors, the convergence of China-UK green finance policies not only provides new financing opportunities but also supports sustainable growth strategies. Additionally, the interconnectivity of the China-UK capital markets is expected to enhance capital flow efficiency and provide broader investment options.

The event was moderated by Jiang Suwei, Partner and Head of International Strategic Markets at PwC UK. Distinguished guests included Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chairman of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) and Senior Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of HSBC Holdings, Sir Charles Bowman, Former Lord Mayor of the City of London, and Ioan Reed-Aspley, Head of Corporate Affairs at East Midlands Airport. Mr. Qiu Zhaojun, Manager  Director of Intennel Business Group, and Ms. Sun Xiaoyan, Marketing executive, represented Intennel Business Group at this significant business event.
