CISCE UK Roadshow Held in London with IBG as Key Partner

On March 12, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) successfully hosted the “3rd China International Supply Chain Expo UK Roadshow” in London. The event was attended by Vice Chairman of CCPIT Yu Jianlong, Minister Counsellor Wang Qi of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Lord Mayor of the City of London Alastair King, Chairman of the China-Britain Business Council Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chairman of the 48 Group Club Jack Perry Jr., as well as more than 150 representatives from Chinese and foreign enterprises and business associations.

In his speech, Vice Chairman Yu Jianlong emphasized that China-UK economic and trade cooperation continues to thrive, with broader development prospects in financial services, clean energy, and artificial intelligence. Strengthening supply chain resilience and facilitating two-way investment have become shared objectives for both countries. Since its inaugural edition in 2023, the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), the world’s first national-level exhibition focused on supply chains, has received extensive global attention and praise, with UK enterprises achieving significant results at the event. The third CISCE will be held in Beijing this July, and CCPIT welcomes more UK enterprises to participate and seize opportunities in the Chinese market. CCPIT is committed to working together with all parties to uphold the “Icebreaking Spirit,” foster China-UK friendship, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, and ensure the stability and smooth flow of industrial and supply chains, thereby injecting new momentum into global economic growth.

During his visit to the UK, Vice Chairman Yu Jianlong met with Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chairman of the China-Britain Business Council, on March 10. During their discussion, Vice Chairman Yu put forward three suggestions for strengthening China-UK cooperation:

  • Deepening bilateral trade collaboration by jointly establishing platforms for business exchanges between China and the UK.
  • Expanding cooperation in key sectors, promoting innovation and sustainable development under the “Sustainable Markets Initiative” framework
  • Encouraging UK enterprises to participate in the third CISCE to contribute to building a safer, more stable, open, and inclusive global industrial and supply chain system.

Li Hu, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the China Maritime Arbitration Commission, also participated in the UK roadshow and engaged in extensive discussions with both Chinese and international companies on leveraging arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to safeguard the stability and efficiency of global industrial and supply chains through legal frameworks.
