About Intennel
Intennel supports two way business connections between the UK and China through exhibitions, corporate delegations, business visits and commercial events. We work with companies, event organisers, venues, chambers of commerce, suppliers and other stakeholders to deliver professional business programmes across both markets.
We are now looking for a PR & External Relations Officer to support our external communications, stakeholder engagement and event publicity work.
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering external communications for Intennel’s UK and China related business programmes, including exhibitions, corporate visits, receptions and delegation activities.
Main duties will include:
- Preparing bilingual PR and communications materials, including press releases, event copy, website updates, briefing notes, invitations and post event summaries.
- Supporting media relations, including press outreach, interview coordination, media monitoring, coverage tracking and preparation of media briefing notes.
- Managing external communications for business delegations, exhibitions and corporate events, ensuring that messaging is accurate, professional and consistent.
- Coordinating receptions, official visits and stakeholder engagement activities with clients, partners, venues, PR and event suppliers and event organisers.
- Building and maintaining relationships with chambers of commerce, business associations, event organisers, venues, media contacts and other external partners in the UK and China.
- Supporting promotional activities for Chinese companies attending UK exhibitions and for UK companies participating in China related business programmes.
- Maintaining PR databases, media contact lists, event materials, stakeholder records and internal communication files.
- Providing administrative support for PR and external relations activities, including meeting notes, communications schedules, stakeholder records, PR material filing and follow up records.
- Preparing internal updates and post event reports to assist management in evaluating publicity outcomes, stakeholder feedback and future opportunities.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in PR, communications, external relations, corporate events, stakeholder engagement or a related commercial role.
- Strong written and spoken Chinese and English, with the ability to prepare professional communications materials in both languages.
- Excellent communication, coordination and relationship management skills.
- Experience dealing with corporate clients, business partners, suppliers, venues, event organisers or institutional stakeholders.
- Experience maintaining media, stakeholder or partner databases would be an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records, contact lists and event documentation.
- Confidence in preparing presentations, reports and written materials using Microsoft Office.
- Experience in established corporate environments, retail, exhibitions, business events or international commercial projects would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required for business delegations and major events.
